Wells 5D1040 Distributor Cap

The Wells 5D1040 distributor cap receives high secondary current from the rotor and ignition coil, routing voltage through connected ignition wires to complete the current path to each spark plug. This critical ignition system component ensures proper firing order and reliable engine performance.

Key Features:

• Designed to meet or exceed OE specifications in form, fit and function
• Matches or improves on OE design to ensure fast, easy installation, superior performance and reliability
• Features premium components that eliminate known original equipment design flaws
• Global coverage for import and domestic applications
• Provides long-lasting, hassle-free performance and dependability

When distributor caps are not replaced, the towers can oxidize or corrode creating high secondary resistance which can result in reduced mileage, check engine light illumination, catalytic converter failure, or failed emissions tests. Regular replacement of this component is essential maintenance to prevent misfires, power loss, and fuel consumption issues.
