Wells 2M1644 Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid EVAP Emissions Replacement

The Wells 2M1644 is a direct-fit replacement Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid (also known as a canister purge valve or EVAP purge solenoid) designed for precise OE-equivalent performance. This solenoid is a key component of the evaporative emissions (EVAP) system, controlling the flow of fuel vapors from the charcoal canister into the engine's intake stream, where they are burned during normal combustion.

Key Features:

• Engineered and tested to match OE parts in fit, form, and function
• Compatible with both domestic and imported vehicle applications
• Includes OE-style brackets, hardware, and electrical connectors where applicable
• Meets or exceeds original equipment specifications for reliable, long-term performance
• Designed for fast, straightforward installation

A failing vapor canister purge solenoid can cause the engine to run rich, resulting in excessive fuel consumption, illumination of the Check Engine Light (CEL), and potential failure of an emissions inspection. Replacing the solenoid with the Wells 2M1644 restores proper EVAP system operation and helps maintain fuel efficiency and emissions compliance. The solenoid is typically located under the hood near the intake manifold, though exact placement may vary by engine design.
