Wells 4B1353 Fuel Vapor Storage Canister EVAP Charcoal Canister

The Wells 4B1353 is a direct-fit replacement fuel vapor storage canister, also known as a charcoal canister or EVAP canister, designed to restore proper function to your vehicle's evaporative emissions control (EVAP) system.

What It Does:

The vapor canister stores and contains harmful fuel vapors produced in the vehicle's fuel tank, preventing them from venting into the atmosphere. Activated charcoal inside the canister absorbs and holds these vapors while the engine is off. When operating conditions are met, the engine control module directs the vapors into the intake stream to be burned during normal combustion.

Key Features:

• Engineered and tested to match OE parts in fit, form, and function
• Compatible with both domestic and imported vehicle applications
• Helps restore proper EVAP system integrity and pressure-holding capability
• Reduces harmful fuel vapor emissions in compliance with environmental regulations
• Comes with OE-style brackets, hardware, and connectors where applicable

Common Symptoms of a Failed Vapor Canister:

• Check engine light illumination (EVAP-related diagnostic trouble codes)
• Stalling or drivability issues
• Poor fuel economy

The vapor canister is typically located near the fuel tank. Replace a failed canister to restore proper EVAP system operation and pass emissions testing.
