Wells 5D1262 Distributor Cap

The Wells 5D1262 distributor cap is a high-quality replacement ignition component designed to deliver reliable spark distribution to your engine's cylinders. Manufactured by Wells Vehicle Electronics, a leading supplier of automotive electrical components with over 120 years of industry experience, this distributor cap meets or exceeds OE specifications for proper form, fit, and function.

Key Features:

• Constructed from high dielectric strength materials for superior electrical insulation and resistance to carbon tracking
• Features corrosion-resistant brass terminals for optimal conductivity and unrestricted spark energy flow
• Designed to prevent electrical breakdown and ensure consistent high-voltage distribution to spark plug wires
• Direct replacement for worn or damaged original equipment distributor caps
• Engineered for fast, easy installation with no modifications required

A distributor cap passes voltage from the ignition coil to the spark plugs through the distributor rotor, igniting the air/fuel mixture in each cylinder at the proper time. When a distributor cap becomes worn, cracked, or its contact points degrade, vehicles may experience engine misfires, rough idling, check engine light illumination, hard starting, loss of power, increased fuel consumption, or failed emissions tests. Regular replacement of the distributor cap during tune-ups helps maintain optimal ignition system performance and engine reliability.
