Wells 5D1047 Distributor Cap Replacement Ignition Component

The Wells 5D1047 is a direct-fit replacement distributor cap engineered by Wells Vehicle Electronics to meet or exceed Original Equipment (OE) specifications in form, fit, and function. Designed for straightforward installation, this distributor cap is built to restore proper ignition system operation and deliver dependable, long-lasting performance.

The distributor cap plays a critical role in your ignition system. It receives high-voltage secondary current from the ignition coil and rotor, then routes that current through each ignition wire to the correct spark plug, firing the air/fuel mixture in each cylinder in the proper sequence. Over time, the cap's towers can oxidize or corrode, increasing secondary resistance and leading to misfires, reduced fuel economy, or ignition system failure.

Key Features:

• Meets or exceeds OE specifications for reliable form, fit, and function
• OE-equivalent materials promote extended product life and corrosion resistance
• Engineered to eliminate known OE design weaknesses for improved durability
• Designed for fast, straightforward installation
• Helps prevent misfires, Check Engine Light (CEL/MIL) illumination, and failed emissions tests
