Skyward Automotive Products SK46030 Radiator Fan Clutch

The Skyward Automotive Products SK46030 is a thermal radiator fan clutch designed to regulate engine cooling fan speed based on temperature. This fan clutch uses a bi-metallic strip or silicone fluid mechanism that engages the cooling fan when engine temperatures rise, improving cooling efficiency while reducing parasitic power loss and fan noise during normal driving conditions.

Key Features:

• Thermally-controlled engagement for efficient cooling performance
• Reduces unnecessary fan operation to minimize power loss and noise
• Direct replacement design for straightforward installation
• Durable construction for reliable long-term operation
• Helps maintain optimal engine operating temperature

This fan clutch mounts between the water pump pulley and the engine cooling fan blade assembly. When coolant temperatures are low, the clutch remains disengaged or partially engaged, allowing the fan to freewheel. As temperatures increase, the clutch progressively engages to spin the fan at higher speeds for improved airflow through the radiator. Regular inspection and replacement of the fan clutch when it shows signs of failure—such as excessive fan noise, poor engagement, or fluid leakage—helps prevent engine overheating issues.
