Wells 5D1138 Distributor Cap OE Replacement

The Wells Vehicle Electronics 5D1138 is an OE replacement distributor cap engineered to restore proper ignition system performance. Distributed under the WVE by NTK brand, this cap is built to meet or exceed original equipment specifications in form, fit, and function.

How It Works:

The distributor cap serves as a critical link in the ignition system. It receives high-voltage secondary current from the ignition coil and routes it through the ignition wires to the appropriate spark plugs, igniting the air/fuel mixture in each cylinder at precisely the right moment.

Why Replace Your Distributor Cap:

• Worn or corroded cap towers create high secondary resistance, leading to misfires and hard starts
• A failing distributor cap can trigger a Check Engine Light (CEL) or Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)
• Neglected caps can contribute to high fuel consumption, loss of power, catalytic converter damage, and failed emissions tests
• Internal carbon tracking or cracks in the cap housing cause voltage to arc incorrectly, disrupting ignition timing

Key Features:

• Meets or exceeds OE specifications in form, fit, and function
• Designed for fast, easy installation with no modifications required
• Engineered to superior performance and long-term reliability standards
• Cross-references with multiple major brands including ACDelco, Standard Motor Products, BWD Automotive, Echlin, and others
