Wells 4B1185 EVAP Vapor Canister

The Wells 4B1185 Vapor Canister is a critical component of your vehicle's Evaporative Emissions Control (EVAP) system. This canister stores and contains harmful fuel vapors from the fuel system that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere, helping to reduce environmental pollution and ensure compliance with emissions standards.

Key Features:

• Engineered and tested to match OE specifications in fit, form, and function
• Charcoal-filled canister design effectively absorbs and stores gasoline vapors
• Compatible with both domestic and imported vehicle applications
• Designed to meet or exceed original equipment performance standards
• Ensures proper operation of the EVAP system to prevent check engine light illumination

When fuel vapors are produced in the fuel tank, they are routed through vent lines to the vapor canister where they are temporarily stored. Once the engine is running and warmed up, the stored vapors are released through the purge valve into the intake manifold where they are burned during normal combustion. A failing vapor canister can lead to excessive fuel consumption, failed emissions tests, fuel odors, and check engine light warnings.
