Wells 2N1149 Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid

The Wells 2N1149 is a direct-fit replacement vapor canister purge solenoid (also known as an EVAP purge valve or canister purge valve) engineered to restore proper evaporative emission control system function. This solenoid is responsible for routing fuel vapors stored in the charcoal vapor canister into the engine's intake stream, where they are burned in the combustion chamber rather than vented to the atmosphere.

The engine control module (ECM) commands the solenoid open and closed based on operating conditions, precisely metering vapor flow into the intake. A failed purge solenoid can trigger a check engine light, cause rough idle or stalling, reduce fuel economy, and result in a failed emissions test.

Key Features:

• Engineered and tested to match OE parts in fit, form, and function
• Compatible with both domestic and imported vehicle applications
• Includes OE-style brackets, hardware, and electrical connectors where applicable
• New unit — not remanufactured
• Single connector design; for mating connector, use Wells 1P1711

Common Symptoms of a Failing Purge Solenoid:

• Check engine light (CEL) illumination
• Stalling or drivability issues
• Poor fuel economy
• Failed emissions test

Typically located under the hood near the intake manifold, the Wells 2N1149 installs directly in place of the original equipment solenoid for a straightforward, no-modification replacement.
