Wells 2M1602 Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid EVAP Emissions

The Wells 2M1602 is a direct-replacement Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid engineered to restore proper function to your vehicle's evaporative emissions (EVAP) system. Also referred to as a canister purge valve (CPV) or purge valve solenoid, this component plays a critical role in reducing harmful emissions and maintaining fuel efficiency.

How It Works:

The vapor canister purge solenoid is a solenoid-operated valve controlled by the Engine Control Module (ECM). It routes fuel vapors stored in the charcoal vapor canister into the engine's intake stream, where they are burned in the combustion chamber rather than released into the atmosphere. The ECM determines when to open the valve based on real-time engine operating conditions.

Key Features:

• Engineered and tested to match OE parts in fit, form, and function
• Compatible with both domestic and imported vehicle applications
• Includes OE-style brackets, hardware, and electrical connectors where applicable
• Meets or exceeds original vehicle manufacturer specifications
• Designed to seamlessly integrate with the vehicle's onboard computer

Symptoms of a Failed Purge Solenoid:

• Illuminated Check Engine Light (CEL)
• Rich running condition or increased fuel consumption
• Failed emissions test
• Rough idle or reduced engine performance
• Fuel vapor odors from the engine bay

The Wells 2M1602 is typically located under the hood near the intake manifold. Wells Vehicle Electronics is a trusted name in aftermarket engine management and vehicle electronics, offering high-technology manufacturing with improvements to OE designs for fast, reliable installation.
