Wells 2M1392 Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid EVAP Vent Valve

The Wells 2M1392 is a direct-fit replacement Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid (also known as an EVAP canister vent valve) designed to restore proper evaporative emissions system operation. This solenoid controls the flow of outside air into and out of the charcoal-filled vapor canister, enabling the EVAP system to purge stored fuel vapors and perform system integrity testing.

The EVAP system prevents fuel vapors from escaping into the atmosphere by temporarily storing them in the charcoal canister. The vent solenoid allows outside air to enter the canister during purge cycles, when the engine computer (PCM) calls for fuel vapors to be drawn into the engine and burned. A failed vent solenoid can trigger a Check Engine light and EVAP-related diagnostic trouble codes such as P0446 or P0455.
