Wells 5S2140 Ignition Knock Detonation Sensor

The Wells 5S2140 Ignition Knock Detonation Sensor is a precision-engineered engine management component designed to detect and monitor engine knock or ping. This sensor listens for specific harmonic frequencies associated with pre-ignition and detonation, sending critical voltage signals to the Engine Control Module (ECM) to optimize ignition timing and prevent engine damage.

Key Features:

• Detects abnormal combustion and pre-ignition conditions in real-time
• Designed and manufactured to meet or exceed OEM specifications
• Direct replacement for OEM part number 30530P2MA01
• Enables ECM to adjust ignition timing and injection pulse width for optimal performance
• Helps prevent internal engine damage from prolonged knock conditions
• Prevents Check Engine Light (CEL) illumination from knock sensor faults

The Wells 5S2140 knock sensor plays a vital role in engine protection and performance. When the sensor detects engine knock, it alerts the ECM to retard ignition timing, preventing piston skirt damage and ensuring efficient combustion. A faulty knock sensor can lead to reduced fuel economy, poor performance under load, increased emissions, and potential engine damage. Wells Vehicle Electronics delivers proven reliability with components engineered for fast installation and superior durability.
