External transmission coolers work by allowing transmission fluid to pass through a separate heat exchanger that catches air like a radiator, reducing fluid temperature before returning it to the transmission. The main cause of transmission failure is overheating, so installing or replacing the original cooler can significantly extend transmission life.

GPD began as Auto Air of Macon in 1974 as an automotive A/C installation and repair shop, and has evolved into one of the most knowledgeable and dependable sources for aftermarket air conditioning parts and radiators in the United States. All GPD products are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year.
