Autopart International 1604-288454 Engine Cooling Fan Clutch

The Autopart International 1604-288454 is an engine cooling fan clutch designed to regulate engine cooling system performance. This thermostatic fan clutch automatically engages and disengages the cooling fan based on engine temperature, ensuring optimal cooling efficiency while reducing unnecessary power draw and fan noise during normal operating conditions.

Key Features:

• Temperature-activated clutch mechanism for automatic fan engagement
• Helps maintain proper engine operating temperature
• Reduces parasitic power loss when full cooling is not required
• Minimizes fan noise during light-load driving conditions
• Direct-fit replacement for specific vehicle applications

This fan clutch is a critical component of your vehicle's cooling system, working in conjunction with the radiator, water pump, and thermostat to prevent engine overheating. When engine temperatures rise, the bi-metallic spring or silicone fluid inside the clutch expands to engage the fan blades, drawing maximum airflow through the radiator. As temperatures normalize, the clutch disengages to improve fuel economy and reduce wear on engine-driven accessories.
