The Amana-Goodman HANG20 high altitude natural gas kit (also called a high altitude conversion kit) adapts select Goodman and Amana brand natural gas furnaces for installation at elevations between 4,500 and 10,000 feet above sea level. It helps the furnace run properly and reliably in thin, high-elevation air.

Key Features:

  • Designed for natural gas furnaces. It is not for LP/propane use.
  • Rated for altitudes from 4,500 ft to 10,000 ft
  • Includes #46 natural gas orifices, which prevent over-firing at or above 7,500 ft
  • Includes a high altitude pressure switch with a -.60" W.C. set point, which helps avoid nuisance pressure switch trips above 4,500 ft
  • Genuine Goodman/Amana service part with installation instructions available from the manufacturer

Above 4,500 ft, the factory pressure switch is replaced with the high altitude switch from the kit. At or above 7,500 ft, the factory natural gas orifices are also replaced with the #46 orifices. Check your furnace's spec sheet and installation manual to confirm that this kit is the right one for your model and elevation.

I had placed my order and then had been checking the confirmation email site for updates on processing and when it was shipped. It had been over a week with no updates noted just that the order was received. I emailed customer service to see if my order had shipped yet and was told they would check with the warehouse to check the status. They responded quickly to let me know what date it was shipped and provided tracking information. I appreciated the quick response and follow up by your customer service representative. Perhaps keeping the "progress of order" page updated to real time more often would be beneficial.
