Fireye UV90L-1 UV Flame Scanner with Terminal Block

The Fireye UV90L-1 is a non-self-checking ultraviolet flame scanner designed for industrial combustion applications including boilers, furnaces, incinerators, and gas turbines. This scanner features front and lateral 90-degree mounting capability, which allows for a clearer view of the flame in applications where traditional straight-on mounting may be obstructed.

Key Features:

• Front and lateral (90°) mounting design for optimal flame visibility
• Field-wireable terminal block connection for easy installation
• Exclusive snug-fit mounting block eliminates the need for threaded sight pipe
• Quartz UV tube filled with ionizable gas for reliable flame detection
• Stainless steel housing with high-temperature-resistant lens
• Compatible with BurnerPRO, MBCE, and NXF4000 flame safeguard systems
• High-sensitivity ultraviolet sensor for accurate flame detection

How It Works: The UV tube contains gas that ionizes when struck by ultraviolet radiation from the flame. High-voltage electrodes inside the tube detect current pulses created by ionization, which are transmitted to the amplifier in the control system to energize the flame relay. In the absence of UV radiation, the gas acts as an insulator, ensuring safe burner shutdown.

Applications: Ideally suited for gaseous fuels such as natural gas and propane. Can also detect flames from standard fuel gases, some waste gases, and light oil fuels such as No. 2 oil. For heavier fuel oils beyond No. 2, infrared detection is recommended due to potential UV blockage from fuel shrouds.
