Tecumseh K31-5 OEM Crankcase Heater Kit for AB, AW & O-Type Compressors

The Tecumseh K31-5 is an OEM insertion-type crankcase heater kit designed for use with Tecumseh AB, AW, and O-type hermetic refrigeration compressors. This factory-authorized replacement part helps protect compressor internals during off-cycle periods by maintaining crankcase temperature and preventing refrigerant migration into the compressor oil.

Crankcase heaters are a critical component in refrigeration and HVAC systems. When a compressor is idle—especially in cold ambient conditions—refrigerant can migrate into the crankcase and mix with the lubricating oil, thinning it and potentially causing liquid slugging or compressor damage on startup. The K31-5 heater kit continuously warms the crankcase oil to keep it free of refrigerant saturation, preserving viscosity and enabling reliable compressor startup.

Key Features:

• OEM Tecumseh replacement crankcase heater kit
• Insertion-type design for direct installation into the compressor crankcase
