Product Details

The Rheem-Ruud 42-24196-82 is a negative pressure switch designed for use in gas furnaces and heating equipment to monitor vent pressure. This safety component ensures proper venting by detecting pressure changes in the exhaust system.

Key Specifications:

  • Pressure Setting: -0.80 inches water column (WC)
  • Connection Type: 1/4 inch barbed fitting for flexible tubing
  • Application: Vent pressure sensing for gas-fired heating equipment
  • Switch Type: SPST (Single Pole Single Throw)
  • Function: Closes on pressure rise, opens on pressure drop

This pressure switch is a critical safety component that monitors the negative pressure in the venting system. If proper draft is not established, the switch prevents the furnace from operating, protecting against potential backdrafting or improper combustion. The 1/4 inch barbed connection allows for secure attachment of pressure sensing tubing from the vent collector box or draft inducer assembly.

Genuine Rheem-Ruud OEM replacement part ensures proper fit and reliable operation in compatible heating systems.

Hard to find belts

The product was delivered in a couple of days over the 4th of July weekend in perfect condition. I had to send it back though because it didn't fit the existing bracket on my boat. I was not able to verify specs on your website so I did not realize that I needed to order a look-alike product from another company. Their product was half the price, but I am still waiting for delivery. Your customer service was incredible and you handled the return with very little effort on my part.

Good price and shipped fast. Ended up not needing the part so I returned it with no hassle. Overall, vey good experience.
