The Nordyne 632484R is a furnace flame sensor, also called a flame rod or flame sensor rod. It monitors the burner and detects whether a flame is present.

Key Features:

  • Detects burner flame so the furnace can run safely
  • Works by flame rectification, sending the control board a signal that confirms a stable flame
  • Replaces a fouled or oxidized sensor that can cause a furnace to light and then shut off

A dirty or defective flame sensor can fail to detect flame, and installing a new sensor restores reliable flame sensing.
