Carrier HH22HA194 Rollout Switch Manual Reset 190°F Open 150°F Close

The Carrier HH22HA194 is a factory authorized OEM manual reset rollout safety switch designed for Carrier, Bryant, and Payne gas furnaces. This critical safety component features a remote sensing design with a 55-inch capillary tube that allows flexible placement of the temperature-sensing bulb in areas prone to dangerous flame rollout conditions.

Key Specifications:

• Opening Temperature: 190°F (trips when temperature rises to this point)
• Closing Temperature: 150°F (allows reset after cooling to this temperature)
• Reset Type: Manual reset for added safety
• Capillary Length: 55 inches for remote sensing applications
• Switch Type: SPST (Single Pole Single Throw)

Safety Features:

The manual reset design ensures that the furnace cannot automatically restart after a rollout event occurs. This requires a technician to physically inspect the system and manually reset the switch, helping prevent repeated unsafe conditions. The capillary tube contains temperature-sensitive fluid that expands when heated, activating the switching mechanism to shut down the furnace when abnormal flame rollout is detected.

Important: If this rollout switch trips repeatedly, it indicates a dangerous condition exists within the furnace that requires immediate professional inspection and repair by a qualified HVAC technician. Common causes include blocked venting, cracked heat exchangers, or improper burner operation.
