Product Details

The Cometic C5457-027 is a multi-layer steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered specifically for Chrysler LA V8 engines. This precision-manufactured gasket features a compressed thickness of .027 inches and accommodates a 4.125-inch cylinder bore diameter.

Key Features:

  • Multi-layer steel construction for superior sealing and durability
  • .027" compressed gasket thickness
  • 4.125" bore diameter designed for Chrysler LA V8 applications
  • Embossed stainless steel layers with viton rubber coating
  • Excellent heat resistance and combustion sealing
  • Resists blowout and gasket failure under high cylinder pressures

Cometic MLS gaskets utilize multiple layers of stainless steel with strategically placed embossments that provide even load distribution and maximum sealing around combustion chambers, oil passages, and coolant ports. The MLS design allows the gasket to move with the engine block and cylinder head during thermal expansion, maintaining a reliable seal throughout the engine's operating temperature range.
