Wells 5S12750 Ignition Knock (Detonation) Sensor

The Wells 5S12750 Ignition Knock (Detonation) Sensor monitors engine vibration for harmonic frequencies associated with engine knock or "ping" and sends a voltage signal to the Engine Control Module (ECM) when detected. The ECM uses this signal to calculate proper ignition spark timing, helping to prevent damaging pre-ignition conditions.

Key Features:

• Designed and manufactured to meet or exceed OE specifications for performance and durability
• Matches or improves on OE design to ensure fast, easy installation and superior reliability
• Detects preignition when the air/fuel mixture ignites before the spark plug fires
• Measures engine vibration caused by pre-ignition

Why Replace a Faulty Knock Sensor:

• A malfunctioning sensor can allow engine knock to occur unchecked
• Can cause Check Engine Light illumination and set trouble codes in the ECM
• Not replacing a failed sensor can cause reduced fuel mileage, decreased performance, and increased emissions
• Prolonged engine knock can cause internal engine damage
