Wells 5S11706 Ignition Knock Detonation Sensor

The Wells 5S11706 Ignition Knock (Detonation) Sensor is a precision-engineered engine management component designed to detect and prevent harmful preignition in your vehicle's engine. This sensor monitors engine vibrations caused by abnormal combustion, allowing the engine control module to make real-time adjustments to ignition timing and fuel injection for optimal performance and engine protection.

Key Features:

• Engineered and tested to meet or exceed OE specifications in fit, form, and function
• Detects preignition that occurs when air/fuel mixture ignites before the spark plug fires
• Provides critical data to the ECM for ignition timing and injection pulse width adjustments
• Prevents potential engine damage from knock and detonation
• Mounts to the engine block or under the intake manifold depending on application
• Backed by Wells Vehicle Electronics' century of automotive expertise

When a knock sensor fails, your vehicle may experience engine ping or knock, reduced fuel economy, check engine light illumination, loss of power, or even internal engine damage. The Wells 5S11706 sensor delivers reliable performance to keep your engine running smoothly and efficiently while protecting critical engine components from detonation damage.
