Wells 4B1173 Vapor Canister

The Wells 4B1173 is a replacement evaporative emission control vapor canister designed to capture and store fuel vapors from the fuel tank. This emissions control component plays a critical role in preventing hydrocarbon vapors from escaping into the atmosphere, helping vehicles meet EPA and CARB emissions standards.

Key Features:

• Direct replacement vapor canister for specific vehicle applications
• Contains activated charcoal media to absorb and store fuel vapors
• Engineered to OE specifications for proper fit and function
• Durable construction designed to withstand underbody exposure and temperature extremes
• Helps eliminate check engine lights related to EVAP system codes
• Manufactured by Wells Vehicle Electronics, a trusted name in automotive emission control components

The vapor canister works as part of the evaporative emissions system, storing fuel vapors until the engine purge valve opens to allow them to be burned in the combustion process. A failing canister can cause fuel odors, failed emissions tests, and illuminate the check engine light with EVAP system diagnostic trouble codes.
