Wells 2N1009 Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid

The Wells 2N1009 is a direct-fit Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid engineered to restore proper evaporative emission control system (EVAP) function. This solenoid is a critical component of the fuel vapor management system — it controls the flow of fuel vapors stored in the charcoal vapor canister, routing them into the engine's intake stream where they are burned in the combustion chamber rather than released into the atmosphere.

Key Features:

• OE-matched fit, form, and function — engineered to meet or exceed original equipment manufacturer specifications
• Compatible with domestic and imported vehicles for broad application coverage
• Includes OE-style brackets, hardware, and electrical connectors where applicable for a hassle-free installation
• Precision-manufactured solenoid valve for reliable, consistent vapor flow regulation
• Helps eliminate EVAP-related diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and restore proper emissions performance

The vapor canister purge solenoid is typically located under the hood near the intake manifold, though exact placement varies by engine design. Common symptoms of a failed purge solenoid include rough idle, poor fuel economy, failed emissions testing, and an illuminated check engine light. The Wells 2N1009 is built to deliver a dependable, long-lasting replacement that meets all emissions standards.
