Wells 2M1422 Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid EVAP Emission Control

The Wells 2M1422 Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid is a direct-fit replacement component for your vehicle's Evaporative Emission Control (EVAP) system. This solenoid controls the flow of outside air in and out of the charcoal vapor canister, enabling the system to properly purge stored fuel vapors during normal engine operation.

The EVAP system is a sealed network of tubes, valves, and canisters designed to prevent raw fuel vapors from escaping into the atmosphere. The vent solenoid plays a critical role by allowing outside air to enter the charcoal-filled canister, which is necessary for fuel vapor purge cycles to function correctly. When this solenoid fails, the EVAP system cannot operate properly, often triggering a Check Engine light and related diagnostic trouble codes such as P0446 or P0455.

Key Features:

• Engineered and tested to match OE parts in fit, form, and function
• Compatible with both domestic and imported vehicle applications
• Includes OE-style brackets, hardware, and electrical connectors where applicable
• Designed to restore proper EVAP system sealing and vapor purge operation
• Helps eliminate Check Engine light codes related to EVAP vent circuit faults

The Wells 2M1422 is also sold under the WVE by NTK brand name. Typically located on or near the vapor canister by the fuel tank, this solenoid is a straightforward replacement that restores emissions compliance and proper fuel vapor management.
