Wells 2M1167 Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid EVAP Canister Vent Valve

The Wells 2M1167 Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid (also called an EVAP canister vent solenoid or canister vent valve) is a replacement emissions part for the vehicle's evaporative emissions control (EVAP) system.

What It Does:

• Lets outside air be drawn into the charcoal-filled vapor canister
• Allows fuel vapors to be purged from the canister during normal purge operation
• Is used during EVAP system integrity testing

The vent solenoid is usually mounted on or near the vapor canister by the fuel tank. A failing unit can cause a check engine light, drivability issues, poor fuel economy, or difficulty filling the fuel tank because the nozzle keeps shutting off.
