Product Details

The 3M Underseal Rubberized Undercoating (08883) is a premium asphalt/synthetic polymer-based aerosol undercoating designed to deliver long-lasting corrosion protection, abrasion resistance, and sound deadening in a single convenient spray can. It applies as a medium to coarse textured black finish that matches OEM undercoating appearances and builds up in one coat with no dripping, running, or sagging.

Key Features:

  • Corrosion & Abrasion Resistance: Passes 1,500-hour salt fog testing with no corrosion; forms a durable barrier against grit, grime, and moisture
  • Sound Deadening: Rubberized formula helps insulate the vehicle cabin from road, engine, and wind noise
  • Medium to Coarse Texture: OEM-match appearance for a consistent, professional finish
  • One-Coat Build-Up: High-coverage formula applies without dripping, running, or sagging
  • Paintable: Can be topcoated (note: paint applied over coating may discolor; product does not contain UV screeners)
  • Easy Aerosol Application: No additional equipment required; includes snorkel tube for hard-to-reach areas
  • Fast Dry Time: Tack-free in approximately 15 minutes at 75°F
  • Wide Service Temperature Range: Rated from -20°F to 180°F

Specifications:

  • Container: 19.7 oz (560 g) aerosol can
  • Color: Black
  • Base: Asphalt / Synthetic polymers
  • Solids Content: Approximately 52%
  • Viscosity: 3,500–9,000 cps
  • Coverage: ~16 sq ft per coat (50% overlap)
