OTC Tools 6979 Heavy Duty Brake Drum and Rotor Puller

The OTC 6979 is a professional-grade puller designed to remove frozen, rusted, or seized brake drums and rotors on medium and heavy-duty vehicles including 1-ton pickups, school buses, and larger commercial vehicles. This heavy-duty tool features a robust construction capable of handling the toughest brake service jobs.

Key Features:

• 17.5-inch usable spread with 12.25-inch maximum reach for large brake applications
• Two 3/4" x 14 UNF forcing screws included: 6.2" and 13.3" threaded lengths for standard and tall brake drums
• 1-inch diameter hex with integrated striking cap on each screw to help break stubborn components loose
• Specially heat-treated forcing screws for smooth operation and superior longevity
• Improved leg design with simplified crossbar positioning and mild radius at drum/rotor attachment point
• 8-foot ratcheting safety strap included to secure puller legs during operation
• Backed by OTC's lifetime warranty

The dual forcing screw design provides versatility for different drum heights, while the striking caps allow technicians to apply impact force when needed. The included ratchet strap ensures safe, stable operation by preventing leg slippage during pulling operations.

Safety Tip: Always leave one lug nut loosely threaded on the hub to catch the drum or rotor when it breaks free, preventing injury or damage.
