Cometic C5768-030 MLS Cylinder Head Gasket GM Ecotec Bore - L42/L61 87mm

The Cometic C5768-030 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered specifically for GM L42 and L61 Generation 1 and 2 Ecotec engines. This performance gasket features an 87mm bore diameter and a compressed thickness of .030 inches, providing an excellent solution for stock rebuilds or mild performance applications.

Key Features:

• Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) construction for superior sealing and durability
• 87mm bore diameter designed for GM Ecotec L42/L61 engines
• .030 inch compressed gasket thickness
• Engineered for Generation 1 and 2 Ecotec platforms
• Resists corrosion and withstands extreme cylinder pressures
• Provides excellent recovery and conforms to sealing surfaces

Cometic MLS head gaskets are constructed from multiple layers of stainless steel, with embossed sealing beads around combustion chambers, coolant passages, and oil passages. This design allows the gasket to maintain constant surface pressure across the entire sealing area, while accommodating minor surface imperfections and engine movement during thermal cycling.

Application: GM L42 and L61 Ecotec engines found in various Chevrolet Cavalier, Pontiac Sunfire, Saturn Ion, and other GM vehicles from the early 2000s.
