The Wiseco S497 is an unchromed 5115 chromium alloy steel piston wrist pin measuring 0.975 in. outer diameter × 2.930 in. in length, weighing approximately 148 grams. Designed for use with Wiseco W5314 piston pin locks, this wrist pin is engineered to handle the demands of aftermarket performance engines. Wiseco wrist pins are available in three distinct material grades — 5115, 52100, and 9310 — each optimized for a specific performance application.

5115 Chromium Alloy Steel (This Pin — S497)

• Standard-grade chromium alloy steel construction
• Case hardened to 58–64 Rockwell C
• Ground to a surface finish of .15 Ra or better
• Designed to withstand the normal wear and tear of an aftermarket engine build

52100 High Carbon Chromium-Bearing Steel (Upgrade Option)

• Aircraft-quality, high carbon chromium-bearing steel alloy
• Case hardened to 54–56 Rockwell C; through hardened for added strength
• Ground to a fine surface finish
• Designed for high load capacity and outstanding wear and abrasion resistance

9310 Low Carbon Case-Hardened Steel (Turbo / Nitrous Option)

• High-quality, low carbon case-hardened steel
• Case hardened to 59–63 Rockwell C
• Ground to a superfinish of .025 Ra or better
• Engineered for applications requiring high surface strength combined with high core toughness
• Ideal for high contact stress combined with shock and impact loading — such as turbocharged or nitrous oxide applications
