ATP TO-28 Automatic Transmission Extension Housing Seal

The ATP TO-28 Automatic Transmission Extension Housing Seal is a precision-engineered replacement seal designed to stop transmission fluid leaks at the output shaft exit point of the extension housing. This seal is commonly referred to as a rear output shaft seal or transmission tail housing seal, and is a critical component in maintaining a leak-free drivetrain.

What It Does:

The extension housing seal prevents automatic transmission fluid from escaping where the output shaft extends through the rear of the transmission housing. A worn or damaged seal in this location can result in fluid loss, poor shift quality, and potential long-term transmission damage if left unaddressed.

Key Features:

• Exact-fit, no-compromise replacement design engineered to OE specifications
• Constructed with premium metal and rubber composite materials for durability and long service life
• Press-fit installation for a secure, leak-free seal around the output shaft
• Restores transmission to original factory performance and fluid retention
• Replaces OEM part numbers: 4295904, 4412522, 5205591

Common Symptoms of a Failed Extension Housing Seal:

• Visible transmission fluid puddle beneath the rear of the transmission
• Low transmission fluid level with no other apparent leak source
• Delayed engagement or rough shifting caused by fluid loss
• Burnt transmission fluid smell due to fluid contacting hot drivetrain components

The ATP TO-28 is a direct replacement seal backed by ATP's reputation for quality transmission components. Sold as a single seal.
