Product Details

The Gates 51638 Premium Modular Coolant Hose is a precision-engineered replacement radiator hose built to OEM specifications. Manufactured with an EPDM tube, synthetic fiber knit reinforcement, and a heat- and ozone-resistant EPDM cover, this hose delivers long-lasting, leak-free cooling system performance.

Key Features:

  • OEM-exact design — manufactured to match factory fit, including integrated components such as quick-connects, branch connectors/tees, sensors, and restrictors
  • Electrochemical degradation (ECD) resistant — engineered EPDM compound combats the leading cause of coolant hose failure
  • Vacuum collapse resistant — specially engineered materials reduce or eliminate the need for internal support springs
  • EPDM construction — tube and cover resist heat, ozone, and chemical coolants for extended service life
  • Meets SAE 20R3 EC Class D1 (under 25mm ID) and SAE 20R4 EC Class D1 (25mm ID and over)
  • Temperature range: -40°F to +257°F (-40°C to +125°C)
  • Pre-shaped for a perfect, sealed fit — no trimming or modification required

Cross-Reference / Interchange: OEM part number 17122754221; also referenced as 23026M.

Note: Gates recommends replacing hose clamps each time a new coolant hose is installed. Not for use in fuel or oil transfer applications.
