Product Details

The Cometic C5918-040 is a premium Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket designed specifically for Chrysler LA V8 engines with 318 A-style cylinder heads. This gasket features a 4.125-inch bore diameter and a compressed thickness of .040 inches, providing an excellent seal for street performance and mild racing applications.

Key Features:

  • Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) construction for superior sealing and durability
  • 4.125-inch bore diameter optimized for Chrysler LA V8 engines
  • .040-inch compressed thickness for precise compression ratio tuning
  • Compatible with 318 A-head cylinder head design
  • Accommodates moderate thermal expansion and engine movement
  • Resistant to combustion gases, coolant, and engine oil

Cometic's MLS gaskets are constructed from multiple layers of stainless steel with an elastomeric coating, providing exceptional conformability to sealing surfaces while maintaining long-term durability. The .040-inch thickness makes this gasket ideal for applications requiring a slightly thicker gasket to lower compression ratios or accommodate deck height variations. This gasket is engineered to meet the demands of performance enthusiasts rebuilding or upgrading their Chrysler LA V8 engines.
