Hankook 1026789 Winter iPike X W429A 275/55R20 117T XL Studdable Winter SUV Tire

The Hankook Winter i*Pike X (W429A) is a studdable directional winter tire engineered specifically for SUVs, CUVs, and light trucks. Bearing the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) symbol and an M+S rating, it is purpose-built to deliver confident traction and control in the most demanding cold-weather conditions, including ice, packed snow, slush, and wet roads.

Key Features:

• Factory Studded (MPN 1026789): Ships pre-studded for immediate ice traction advantage; can also be re-pinned with TSMI #12 studs where permitted by local regulations
• Innovative Ice Slit Design: Slotted stud pin recesses reduce road impact and maximize the number of contact pins, delivering superior grip on glare ice
• 3D Sipe Technology & Wide Center Blocks: High-density siping creates additional biting edges while wide center tread blocks improve snow and ice traction and enhance handling response
• Step-Down Shoulder Design: Increases the friction surface and edge contact in deep snow for better lateral grip
• Zigzag Evacuation Grooves: Wide grooves efficiently channel water, slush, and melting snow away from the contact patch, reducing hydroplaning risk on wet roads
• Special Winter Compound: Formulated to remain pliable at sub-freezing temperatures, ensuring consistent grip and braking performance in extreme cold
• High-Carbon Black Compound: Enhances tread durability and overall tread life
• Jointless Full & Edge Cover Belt: Wide steel belt with reinforced edge tape improves structural integrity, high-speed stability, and puncture resistance
• Ultra High-Strength (UHT) Bead Wire & High-Hardness Bead Filler: Reinforced bead construction minimizes road vibration, improves uniformity, and enhances sidewall stiffness and durability
• Equilibrium Polyester Carcass: Balances ride comfort with load-bearing capability for SUV and light truck applications
• 3PMSF Certified & M+S Rated: Meets severe snow service requirements for use in moderate-to-severe winter conditions

In size 275/55R20, this tire carries an XL (Extra Load) rating with a load index of 117 (2,833 lbs per tire) and a speed rating of T (up to 118 mph), making it well-suited for heavier SUVs and light trucks. With a tread depth of 12.5/32nds and a maximum inflation pressure of 50 PSI, the Winter i*Pike X W429A delivers a compelling combination of winter safety, tread longevity, and everyday drivability.
