Product Details

The Dorman 85840 is a direct-fit 2-wire alternator external regulator pigtail connector designed to restore proper electrical connection between the alternator and the external voltage regulator. This replacement connector harness precisely matches the appearance and function of the original factory hardware, making it an ideal solution when the original connector has failed, become damaged, or is missing entirely.

Key Features:

  • Direct-fit replacement — matches the OE connector in form, fit, and function for a hassle-free installation
  • 2-wire female blade terminal connector with plastic housing
  • 18-gauge wire with approximately 6.5-inch tube length
  • Durable construction — quality materials engineered for reliable performance and long service life
  • Backed by Dorman's limited Lifetime Warranty

This alternator connector pigtail is compatible with select GM vehicles equipped with an external voltage regulator, including applications from Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, and Oldsmobile. It provides a clean, cost-effective repair without requiring full harness or alternator replacement.
