Cometic C15604-040 MLS Cylinder Head Gasket Chevy Small Block Bore - for V8 4.080

The Cometic C15604-040 is a high-performance Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered specifically for Chevrolet Generation 1 Small Block V8 engines. This precision gasket features a 4.080-inch bore diameter and .040-inch compressed thickness, making it ideal for performance builds and engine rebuilds requiring reliable combustion sealing.

Key Features:

• Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) construction provides superior sealing and durability under high cylinder pressures
• 4.080-inch bore diameter accommodates standard and slightly oversized pistons
• .040-inch compressed thickness allows for precise compression ratio tuning
• Designed for 18-degree and 23-degree cylinder heads with integrated valve pockets for proper valve clearance
• Compatible with Chevrolet Gen-1 Small Block V8 engines including 283, 302, 327, 350, and 400 cubic inch variants
• MLS technology delivers exceptional resistance to blown gaskets and combustion leaks

Cometic's MLS gaskets feature multiple layers of stainless steel with embossed sealing beads that maintain constant pressure across the sealing surface. This construction handles extreme thermal cycling and cylinder pressure better than traditional composite gaskets, making it the preferred choice for performance and racing applications. The gasket's valve pocket design ensures compatibility with aftermarket cylinder heads featuring 18-degree or 23-degree valve angles.
