Product Details

The Cometic C15640-040 is a high-performance Multi-Layer Stopper (MLX) cylinder head gasket designed specifically for Ford Windsor V8 engines. This precision-engineered gasket features a .040" compressed thickness and is built to accommodate engines with a 4.170" bore diameter.

Key Features:

  • Multi-Layer Stopper (MLX) construction for superior sealing and durability
  • .040" compressed gasket thickness for precise compression control
  • 4.170" bore size optimized for performance Windsor builds
  • Non-SVO head bolt pattern configuration
  • Premium steel construction with advanced coating technology
  • Designed to withstand extreme cylinder pressures and temperatures

Cometic's MLX gaskets utilize multiple layers of stainless steel with a stopper layer and proprietary coating system to provide exceptional sealing under high-performance conditions. The .040" thickness allows engine builders to fine-tune compression ratios while maintaining reliable combustion sealing. Ideal for street performance, racing, and boosted applications where standard gaskets fall short.
