Product Details

The Cometic C15495-040 is a premium multi-layer steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered specifically for Chevrolet Gen-I Small Block V8 engines. This gasket features a .040" compressed thickness and is designed for 4.155" bore applications with 18 or 23 degree cylinder heads.

Key Specifications:

  • Multi-layer steel (MLS) construction for superior sealing and durability
  • Compressed thickness: .040 inches
  • Bore size: 4.155 inches
  • Compatible with 18 and 23 degree cylinder heads
  • Configuration: Without steam holes
  • Application: Chevrolet Gen-I Small Block V8

Cometic's MLS gaskets utilize multiple layers of stainless steel with a viton rubber coating to provide maximum sealing performance under extreme cylinder pressures and temperatures. The embossed layers allow the gasket to adapt to minor surface imperfections while maintaining optimal combustion seal integrity. Ideal for performance and racing applications where reliability is critical.
