Product Details

The Cometic C15396-040 is a high-performance Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered specifically for Chevrolet Gen-1 Small Block V8 engines. This precision gasket features a .040" compressed thickness and is designed for 4.190" bore applications with aftermarket Pro-style cylinder heads featuring round bore configurations.

Key Features:

  • Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) construction provides superior sealing and durability under high-performance conditions
  • .040" compressed gasket thickness for optimal compression ratio tuning
  • 4.190" bore diameter accommodates stroker builds and overbored engines
  • Round bore design engineered for aftermarket Pro-style cylinder heads
  • Premium materials resist blowout and maintain seal integrity under extreme temperatures and pressures
  • Embossed stainless steel layers with elastomer coating for maximum conformability

Cometic MLS head gaskets are the proven choice for street performance, racing, and forced induction applications where reliability and precision sealing are critical. The multi-layer design allows the gasket to respond to the expansion and contraction of the engine block and cylinder heads, maintaining consistent clamping pressure across the entire sealing surface.
