EMPI 98-0133-B Main Bearing Dowel Pin for VW Air-Cooled Engines

The EMPI 98-0133-B is a main bearing dowel pin designed for Volkswagen air-cooled engines. This dowel pin installs in the engine line bore and keeps the main bearings from spinning, while also ensuring the oiling holes line up with the case. This critical component helps maintain proper bearing alignment and lubrication in your engine assembly.

Key Features:

• OEM replacement part for VW air-cooled engines
• Cross-references to VW part number 111 101 123
• Precision manufactured to maintain proper bearing alignment
• Essential for engine rebuilds and maintenance
• Sold individually (5 required per engine)

Installation Notes:

You may need to lightly file the end of the dowel that will go into the block, as these dowels appear to be cut by a pinch cutter which can cause one area to become slightly out of round. Filing ensures proper fit when tapping into the engine case. These pins are often lost during disassembly and cleaning, so it's recommended to inspect and replace as needed during engine work.

This main bearing locating dowel pin is a critical component for proper engine assembly and longevity. Compatible with VW Type 1, Type 2, Type 3, Type 4, and other air-cooled Volkswagen engines.
