Porsche 970 201 223 00 Vapor Canister EVAP Emissions Control

The Porsche 970 201 223 00 Vapor Canister is a genuine OEM component designed for the evaporative emission control (EVAP) system. This critical emissions control part captures and stores fuel vapors from the fuel tank, preventing harmful hydrocarbons from escaping into the atmosphere and contributing to air pollution.

Key Features:

• Genuine Porsche OEM part ensuring perfect fit and proper function
• Filled with activated charcoal that absorbs and stores fuel vapors
• Includes integrated evaporative emissions system leak detection assembly
• Direct replacement for superseded part numbers 970-201-221-01 and 97020122101
• Prevents check engine light codes related to EVAP system failures
• Helps vehicle pass emissions testing requirements

How It Works:

When the engine is off, fuel vapors naturally evaporate from the fuel tank and are routed to this canister where activated charcoal captures and holds them. When the engine is running, the purge valve opens and engine vacuum draws these stored vapors back into the intake manifold where they are burned during normal combustion. This closed-loop system prevents fuel vapors from polluting the atmosphere while also recovering fuel that would otherwise be lost to evaporation.

Signs of Failure:

A faulty vapor canister may trigger the check engine light, produce a fuel odor around the vehicle, cause difficulty refueling, or result in failed emissions testing. If your Porsche is displaying any of these symptoms, this genuine replacement canister will restore proper EVAP system function and emissions compliance.
