Product Details

The Cometic C5404-027 is a precision-engineered Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket designed specifically for Chevrolet Gen-1 Small Block V8 engines with a 4.030" bore diameter. This gasket features a .027" compressed thickness and is optimized for use with Brodix BD2000 cylinder heads.

Key Specifications:

  • Bore Size: 4.030 inches
  • Compressed Thickness: .027 inches (27 thousandths)
  • Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) construction for superior sealing
  • Specifically designed for Brodix BD2000 heads
  • Compatible with Chevrolet Gen-1 Small Block V8 engines

Multi-Layer Steel Technology:

  • Multiple layers of stainless steel provide maximum sealing under extreme temperatures and pressures
  • Embossed sealing beads concentrate clamping pressure around critical sealing areas
  • Excellent resistance to combustion gas leakage
  • Maintains seal integrity through thermal expansion and contraction cycles
  • Ideal for high-performance and racing applications

Cometic MLS head gaskets are a premium choice for engine builders who demand reliable performance and precise deck height control. The .027" thickness allows for fine-tuning compression ratios and achieving optimal piston-to-head clearance in performance builds.
