Cometic C5273-070 MLS Cylinder Head Gasket Bore Chevy Small Block - 4.200 V8

The Cometic C5273-070 is a high-performance Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered specifically for Chevrolet Generation 1 small block V8 engines. This precision gasket features a 4.200-inch bore diameter and .070-inch compressed thickness, making it ideal for performance builds and mild stroker applications requiring proper sealing with increased deck clearance.

Key Features:

• Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) construction for superior sealing and durability under high combustion pressures
• 4.200" bore diameter accommodates standard and slightly over-bored small block Chevy engines
• .070" compressed gasket thickness provides additional deck clearance for performance applications
• Designed for 18 and 23 degree cylinder head configurations
• Valve pocketed bore design ensures proper valve-to-gasket clearance
• Integrated steam holes for optimal coolant circulation and heat management
• Embossed stainless steel construction with Viton rubber sealing beads

Cometic MLS gaskets are engineered to withstand extreme cylinder pressures and temperatures while maintaining consistent clamping loads. The multi-layer design allows for minor surface imperfections and provides excellent recovery characteristics. Proper surface preparation (RA finish 50-60 recommended) and torque specifications are essential for optimal performance and longevity.
