Cometic C5746-030 MLS Cylinder Head Gasket Chevy Big Block Bore - for ZL1 V8 4.250

The Cometic C5746-030 is a high-performance Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered specifically for Chevrolet ZL1 and Mark-IV Big Block V8 engines. This precision-engineered gasket features a 4.250-inch bore diameter and a compressed thickness of .030 inches, making it ideal for high-compression and forced induction applications.

Key Features:

• Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) construction provides superior sealing and durability under extreme cylinder pressures
• 4.250-inch bore diameter designed for ZL1 and Mark-IV Big Block Chevrolet engines
• .030-inch compressed thickness allows for precise compression ratio tuning
• Embossed stainless steel layers with elastomeric coating for optimal sealing
• Excellent resistance to blowout and improved recovery characteristics compared to traditional composite gaskets
• Withstands extreme thermal cycling and combustion pressures in performance applications

Cometic MLS head gaskets are the preferred choice for engine builders working with turbocharged, supercharged, and high-compression naturally aspirated engines. The multi-layer design allows the gasket to adapt to minor surface imperfections while maintaining consistent clamping pressure across the entire head-to-block mating surface.
