Cometic C5399-098 MLS Head Gasket Chevy Small Block Bore Thick - 4.030 098

The Cometic C5399-098 is a multi-layer steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered specifically for Chevrolet Generation 1 Small Block V8 engines. This precision gasket features a 4.030-inch bore diameter and .098-inch compressed thickness, making it ideal for performance builds and engine rebuilds requiring exacting specifications.

Key Features:

• Multi-layer steel construction provides superior sealing and durability under high-temperature, high-compression conditions
• 4.030-inch bore diameter accommodates standard and slightly overbored small block Chevy engines
• .098-inch compressed thickness allows for precise compression ratio tuning
• Undersized water ports designed for aftermarket cylinder heads, allowing custom port matching and coolant flow optimization
• Compatible with Generation 1 Small Block Chevy V8 engines (262-400 cubic inch displacement range)
• Eliminates the need for sealants when properly installed with correct torque specifications

Cometic's MLS gaskets utilize multiple layers of stainless steel with proprietary coatings to create a gasket that rebounds and reseals under extreme conditions. The undersized water ports make this gasket particularly well-suited for custom performance applications where precise port alignment with aftermarket heads is required.
