Cometic C5273-120 MLS Cylinder Head Gasket Chevy Small Block Bore - for V8 4.200

The Cometic C5273-120 is a premium Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered specifically for Chevrolet Generation-1 Small Block V8 engines. This high-performance gasket features a .120" (120 thousandths) compressed thickness and is designed for 4.200" bore applications, making it ideal for performance and racing builds with increased displacement.

Key Features:

• Multi-Layer Steel construction provides superior sealing and durability under extreme cylinder pressures
• 4.200" bore diameter accommodates stroker and overbored engine configurations
• .120" compressed thickness allows for precise compression ratio tuning
• Valve pocketed bore design prevents valve-to-gasket interference in high-lift camshaft applications
• Compatible with 18-degree and 23-degree cylinder head angles
• Integrated steam holes for proper coolant circulation
• Eliminates the need for additional sealants when surfaces are properly prepared

Cometic MLS gaskets feature multiple layers of stainless steel with advanced coating technology that compensates for surface imperfections while maintaining excellent recovery properties. The embossed design ensures even load distribution across the sealing surface, reducing the risk of head gasket failure in high-performance and forced induction applications. Proper surface preparation with a minimum 50 RA finish is recommended for optimal sealing performance.
