Cometic C5246-038 MLS Cylinder Head Gasket Bore Chevy Small Block - 4.100 V8

The Cometic Gaskets C5246-038 is a premium Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered specifically for Chevrolet Generation 1 Small Block V8 engines. This high-performance gasket features a .038" compressed thickness and is designed to accommodate a 4.100" bore diameter, making it ideal for performance builds and engine rebuilds.

Key Features:

• Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) construction provides superior sealing and durability under high cylinder pressures
• 4.100" bore diameter accommodates stock and slightly overbored applications
• .038" compressed gasket thickness for precise compression ratio tuning
• Compatible with 18 and 23 degree cylinder head designs
• Round bore configuration ensures consistent seal around combustion chambers
• Designed for Chevrolet Gen-1 Small Block V8 engines (262-400 cubic inch applications)

Cometic's MLS gaskets feature multiple layers of stainless steel with elastomeric coatings that provide exceptional recovery and sealing capability. The embossed layers create a seal that conforms to imperfections in the head and block surfaces, making these gaskets ideal for both street and racing applications. The .038" thickness allows engine builders to fine-tune compression ratios when combined with proper machining and deck height calculations.
