Cometic C15439-056 MLS Cylinder Head Gasket Chevy Small Block Bore - for V8 4.185

The Cometic C15439-056 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered specifically for Chevrolet Generation-1 Small Block V8 engines. This precision-manufactured gasket features a .056" compressed thickness and accommodates a 4.185" bore diameter, making it ideal for performance rebuilds and high-compression applications.

Key Specifications:

• Material: Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) construction for superior sealing and durability
• Compressed Thickness: .056 inches
• Bore Size: 4.185 inches (round bore design)
• Head Compatibility: 18-degree and 23-degree cylinder heads
• Configuration: Without steam holes
• Application: Chevrolet Gen-1 Small Block V8 engines

Cometic's MLS gaskets utilize multiple layers of stainless steel with advanced coating technology to provide excellent sealing under extreme cylinder pressures and temperatures. The embossed layers create a micro-seal around combustion chambers, coolant passages, and oil galleries. This gasket is designed for engines with aftermarket aluminum or iron cylinder heads featuring 18 or 23-degree valve angles, commonly found in racing and performance street applications.

The round bore design without steam holes is suited for competition engines where coolant circulation is managed through alternative passages. The .056" thickness allows builders to fine-tune compression ratios when combined with different piston configurations and deck heights.
