gpd 1711707 HVAC Blower Motor Resistor Switch

The gpd 1711707 is an HVAC switch designed to interface with the engine control module (ECM) and A/C system. On modern vehicles, the ECM relies on this switch to monitor and manage A/C system operation. On earlier platforms, the switch serves a protective role, signaling the system to disengage the compressor before damage can occur — helping extend compressor life and maintain reliable climate control performance.

Key Features:

• Direct-fit replacement for OE-style HVAC switch function
• Provides critical feedback to the engine management system for A/C control
• Helps prevent compressor failure by enabling timely compressor shutoff

Manufactured by gpd, a trusted supplier of HVAC and cooling components. Fits select 1997–2005 Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac models.
